A Welcoming Parish in Upcountry Kula
FOR THE SUCCESS OF OUR PARISH FEAST
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5: 22-23)
Priest: Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of the faithful and enkindle in them, the fire of Your love.
People: Send forth Your Spirit and we shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Priest: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit
People: As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Priest: Let Us Pray: Our Lord, Jesus Christ, has promised: “Ask and you shall receive; seek, and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you.” O Spirit of wisdom, source of grace, we trust You above all else, and willingly place our every need and care into Your compassionate hands. With wisdom and love beyond our comprehension, You invite and empower us to participate in the work of bringing your creation to fulfillment. Grant that we may become ever more aware of Your quiet voice guiding our daily choices and giving us the courage to carry out Your loving will. Amen
Priest: Your Spirit, Lord is truth:
People: May it make us free. Come to us, Spirit of the Lord.
Priest: Your Spirit, Lord, is fire:
People: May it enkindle us with love! Come to us, Spirit of the Lord.
Priest: Your Spirit, Lord, is gentleness:
People: May it renew the depths of our hearts. Come to us, Spirit of the Lord.
Priest: Your Spirit, Lord, is prayer:
People: May it open our hearts to give praise. Come to us, Spirit of the Lord.
Priest: Your Spirit, Lord, fills the whole universe:
People: May it live among us forever. Come to us, Spirit of the Lord.
Priest: Your Spirit, Lord, is life:
People: May it raise us up on the last day. Come to us, Spirit of the Lord.
PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
(said in unison by all)
Come Holy Spirit, fill my heart with Your holy gifts.
Let my weakness be penetrated with Your strength this very day that I may fulfill all the duties of my state conscientiously, that I may do what is right and just.
Let my charity be such as to offend no one, and hurt no one’s feelings; so generous as to pardon sincerely any wrong done to me.
Assist me, O Holy Spirit, in all my trials of life, enlighten me in my ignorance, advise me in my doubts, strengthen me in my weakness, help me in all my needs, protect me in temptations and console me in afflictions.
Graciously hear me, O Holy Spirit, and pour Your light into my heart, my soul, and my mind.
Assist me to live a holy life and to grow in goodness and grace. Amen.
People: Our Father……
(said in unison by all)
Almighty God, graciously infuse into our hearts the gift of Your Spirit. Protect us from all adversity and grant us a share in building up Your kingdom both on earth and in heaven. Amen.
Priest: Grant success to the work of our hands.
People: Grant success to the work of our hands.
